Three Pointers for Marketing your Business

posted on 23 January 2012 | posted in Business and Finance

Marketing today is geared toward catching attention in ways that seem reasonable and tout great, even bargain prices - from roadside advertising to posters to radio ads - our attention is much sought after. Unfortunately, a lot of these tactics come within inches of seeming totally sleazy. Here are three tips for excellent marketing with staying power and fantastic appeal. First, the product has to be superb, needed or very desirable to the target market group, and well-priced. Nothing beats quality, and poor quality will never garner repeat sales. Excellent quality of items well placed in a market that wants the goods or service is the single most important necessity for solid, growing marketing. Here’s an example: My friend’s father is a multi-millionaire. He looked around his home state and city and asked, “What is not here that I can produce with great quality?” His answer was a type of heavy equipment, and he cornered that market for decades. Second, everything about the branding has to be appealing, memorable, trustworthy and relevant. The logo, slogans, graphic designs, and ads must communicate quality and speak to the people or companies that need the product. Even with serious products, cute and amusing are pluses: Whoever came up with the GEICO Gecko and the AFLAC Duck are total geniuses. Third, keep everything clean, honest and trustworthy. In the long run, everyone appreciates truth in marketing and a trustworthy deal. Marketing is simply matching a product to a desire: Repeat buyers and people who tell other people about the product or service are satisfied believers.
